Setup
To setup UpDownCross (UDC), follow the following steps.
Connect UDC to power.
Connect your source to SDI in at UpDownCross.
Connect SDI out from UDC to the desired encoder.
.
We can configure UDC to pass on a desired resolution by switching dip switches to On/Off state
In the image below, the output resolution of a MiniConverer UDC HD and the switches state is shown.
For example, we want UDC to pass on the resolution 720p59.94 (marked red in above image). To achieve this, we turn On 1,4 and 5 switches and turn off 6,7,8 dip switches. Switches 2 and 3 doesn’t matter.
Once UDC been setup and configured, we would need to login to the encoder and update the configuration of Medialogger so that the resolution of incoming signal to encoder and that configured in the Medialogger reflect the same.
Troubleshooting
Power
Is the unit powered? You can tell by the LED that should be lit up.
Output
If there is no output on the encoder after configuring UDC, then try another resolution at UDC. The resolution config we have may not be supported by the encoder.
